One of the best known musicals in the world makes a brief return to the capital in 2017 as Katherine Jenkins appears next to Alfie Boe in Carousel at the London Coliseum. The home of the English National Opera sets its sights on the work of Rodgers and Hammerstein for a unique semi-staging that will introduce the latest generation of theatregoers to a classic that has been doing the rounds since the 1940s.
A fantastic musical revival featuring some world class songs, Carousel will be an unmissable production at the world-famous Coliseum. So makes sure you are first in line!
When audiences step into the auditorium of the London Coliseum they will soon be transported back to the 1870s in America’s New England. It is here that a story inspired by Ferene Molnar’s Liliom takes place, in which a tragic love story between Billy Bigelow (Alfie Boe) and Julie Jordan (Katherine Jenkins) unfolds. As they struggle to makes ends meet with a child on the horizon we witness their struggle as songs like The Highest Judge Of All, If I Loved You and You’ll Never Walk Alone are performed, with the story hurtling towards an unforgettable ending.
This production in particular will be made all the more unforgettable by the stellar cast, which includes the world talent that is Katherine Jenkins, well known for performing classical music on an international stage, as well as performing the song You’ll Never Walk Alone (from Carousel) on tour. The performer has also appeared on television screens in shows like Doctor Who, Emmerdale and the US series Dancing With The Stars (their version of Strictly).
So make sure you catch her and Alfie Boe in Carousel at the London Coliseum from Friday 7th April 2017.
