The Theatre Royal Drury Lane welcomes the Irish ensemble Celtic Woman, who perform their new production Emeralds for an adoring crowd.
The ongoing home of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, and the previous home to further high profile musicals, the Theatre Royal hands itself over to the internationally renowned group partly shepherded by Riverdance performer David Downes. It will be a chance to listen to live performances of some stand-out tracks as Celtic Woman reminds audiences why they flocked to pick up theatre tickets.
Celtic Woman was put together by Sharon Brown and David Downes a decade ago and the current line-up that takes to the stage includes Málréad Carlin, Lynn Hilary, Lisa Lambe, Susan McFadden and Málréad Nesbitt. Many of these members have appeared in theatre roles over the years, with Susan McFadden familiar with West End musicals thanks to her roles in Legally Blonde The Musical at the Savoy Theatre and Grease at the Piccadilly.
But on this occasion audiences will be hoping that they hear songs from albums like Celtic Woman: Emerald Musical Gems and others, with well known tracks like You Raise Me Up Danny Boy and more under their belt.
The West End welcomes an array of live performances late in 2014, with Paul Carrack and Christmas With The Rat Pack appearing at the London Palladium.
But for audiences at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane it is all about Celtic Woman. They perform on Sunday 23rd November 2014.
