Confessions Of A Dancewhore

Confessions of a Dancewhore has been seen previously in London and this means that it is already an acclaimed and popular production ahead of its appearance at Trafalgar Studios 2. Having appeared at locations such as the Oval House Theatre over the last few years it has amassed critical acclaim for its fusing of different aspects of theatre and its pop culture references. So when Michael Twaits brings his latest production to the stage in the West End, it is certainly a production that many in the capital will want to keep a close eye on.

The show promises to take audiences on a thrilling ride as the gay community of the modern world is explored through various theatrical forms. So expect a unique evening that remains fresh and compelling throughout as great music envelopes the stage, performers dance the night away, aspects of stand-up comedy fill the room with laughter and various aspects of new media seek to tell a personal tale and explore deep themes. To sum it up, political elements and popular culture clash so that gay life and all of the misconceptions and stereotypes become all too clear.

The talent behind Confessions of a Dancewhore is Michael Twaits, who has previously staged various theatrical productions all over the country. Another of his shows is the acclaimed Icons, which exploits cabaret much in the same way as Confessions, but instead of gay life the focus is on the world of celebrity. The same style was also evident in his show The One You Love, which looked at the effects of love using vaudeville and the ancient world. Twaits has also worked in television and over the years has been involved in shows such as Psychic Private Eyes and The Value of Nothing. He is a talented individual and tipped for great things.

And one of his best known shows comes to the West End’s Trafalgar Studios 2, the location of many hits productions over the years. Both of the studios have seen big talent make their way to the stage since they first opened in 2004 and 2005 and with a great season in 2010, it is likely to be the location of many high profile spectaculars.

Confessions of a Dancewhore is at Trafalgar Studios 2 from Tuesday 22nd June 2010 to Saturday 3rd July 2010.
