When the stage version of Grease 2, going under the title Cool Rider, landed on the stage of the Lyric Theatre earlier this year audiences flocked to the West End to see the two performances and its success has ensured a longer appearance in April. So audiences can now pick up theatre tickets and head to the Duchess Theatre to witness Aaron Michael Sidwell and Ashleigh Gray in the lead roles.
For one week only audiences can return to Rydell High School and see the stage show that continues the popular story of Grease!
Cool Rider moves on from its predecessor by introducing two new lovebirds to audiences in the forms of Michael and Stephanie, played by Aaron Michael Sidwell and Ashleigh Gray. They take on the roles inhabited by Maxwell Caulfield and Michelle Pfeiffer on the big screen, the former being and English transfer student and the latter the latest leader of the Pink Ladies.
But audiences are also clamouring for great music and Cool Rider delivers with musical numbers such as We’ll Be Together, Rock-a-Hula Luau (Summer Is Coming), Reproduction, Score Tonight and Cool Rider, among others.
Actor Aaron Michael Sidwell has appeared on television and in theatre roles, with credits like EastEnders (as Steven Beale) and West End roles like Loserville The Musical at the Garrick Theatre and Children Of Eden at the Prince of Wales Theatre. He also appeared in Carnaby Street The Musical at the Hackney Empire and other shows around the United Kingdom.
Cool Rider: The Cult Musical Sequel follows Tell Me On A Sunday at the Duchess Theatre from Tuesday 15th April 2014.
