The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London’s most famous venue for opera and ballet, welcomes Carlos Acosta with his latest show entitled Cubanía. The production is a celebration of Cuba, from the performers to the routines, and will utilise a range of talented dancers to bring it to life. For fans of the acclaimed performer, who holds the title of the Royal Ballet Guest Principal Dancer, it will be a must-see show.

Carlos Acosta has not only been involved with the Royal Ballet, but with the English National Ballet and many other prestigious houses around the world during a career that has seen him earn numerous awards and nominations. From his nomination for a Laurence Olivier Award in 2004 to his more recent honour of becoming a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) last year, he has had a profound effect on the world of ballet both in the UK and in Cuba. His previous engagements with the Royal Ballet have included performances in the likes of Swan Lake,

Some of the performers set to take to the stge in this celebration of Cuba will be Veronica Corveas, Danza Contemporanea and Alexander Varona, among many others, and these names plus Acosta’s will ensure a sizable turn out when this takes to the stage of the Royal Opera House.

In a year that also brings La Boheme to the venue, Cubanía is at the Royal Opera House from Monday 27th July 2015.
