The Edinburgh Playhouse is situated on Greenside Place, at the top of Leith Walk and close to the east end of Princes Street. This is less than 10 minute's walk from Waverley Station, 5 minutes walk from the bus station and on various major bus routes.
West End audiences relished in witnessing Dreamboats and Petticoats when it ran there at numerous venues between 2009 and 2012, from the Savoy Theatre to the Playhouse Theatre, and now audiences in the Scottish capital will find out what the fuss is all about. Dreamboats And Petticoats is set to enjoy a run at the Edinburgh Playhouse in July and as a result those that pick up theatre tickets will enjoy a musical journey through rock ‘n’ roll!
The show is penned by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, best known for penning an array of successful sitcoms in the 1990s, including Birds Of A Feather and The New Statesmen. The pair have put together something truly special, with hit songs from Roy Orbison, Billy Fury and The Shadows, to name but a few, as part of the musical numbers.
The plot centres around musicians Norman and Bobby who regularly compete with one another for the attention of their female fans, but when Laura arrives on the scene it is clear that she is more than just good looks as her musical skills could beckon rock ‘n’ roll stardom!
