Age Restriction: Age guidance 3 years+

Younger audiences in the capital will have the opportunity to experience Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet at the Peacock Theatre this April as My First Ballet: Swan Lake takes over the venue and introduces new fans to the wonderful world of ballet. George Williamson, the English National Ballet’s Associate Artist, directs and adapts the choreography from Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov and the result will be a wonderful production that will be both fun and accessible for youngsters in the crowd.

Swan Lake is the classic tale that features music from Tchaikovsky and focuses on the character of Prince Siegfried, who heads out on a hunting trip, escaping from his mother’s demands to get married. What he finds, however, is a swan lake as the evil magician Rothbart has transformed women into swans. One of them is Odette and Siegfried must so everything he can to save the day.

Put together by the English National Ballet and the English National Ballet School, My First Ballet: Swan Lake adds a narrator to the mix so that those above the age of three can follow the proceedings, whilst performers are plucked from the mentioned ballet school. Williamson has been behind previous shows that that have appeared in the capital, including My First Ballet: Coppélia, My First Cinderella, both at the Peacock Theatre, Firebird at the London Coliseum, Threefold for the New English Ballet and many other successful shows.

Audiences can pick up theatre tickets for performances of My First Ballet: Swan Lake, which begin on Thursday 2nd April 2015.
