18-22 Greenside Place
The Edinburgh Playhouse is situated on Greenside Place, at the top of Leith Walk and close to the east end of Princes Street. This is less than 10 minute's walk from Waverley Station, 5 minutes walk from the bus station and on various major bus routes.
The audiences headed to the Edinburgh Playhouse in April 2014 will be hoping for big things as they witness Fame hit the stage. It is an unbeatable opportunity to revisit the classic 1980 movie of the same name, which introduced us to a cast of characters inhabiting the High School for Performing Arts in New York, and take in some spectacular performances along the way.
Fame The Musical introduces us to some young performers as they hope to make it into the spotlight. Those with theatre tickets will take the journey with them as they battle through the pressure and the distractions to make it big as they embark on dance routines and musical numbers that will light up the stage.
Over the years, since the show premiered in the late 1980s, audiences have enjoyed musical numbers such as Place A Love Scene, I Want To Make Magic, Fame and Bring On Tomorrow, among others.
And now Fame takes pride of place on the stage once again and even in a year that also bring the likes of Tonight’s The Night – the Rod Stewart musical – and Evita to the Edinburgh Playhouse, this will be a hard one to beat.
Fame The Musical is at the Edinburgh Playhouse from Monday 21st April 2014.
