Can't understand the 2 star review. Admittedly I love 1927's work but this was sharp / hilarious / thoughtful and well paced. The seamless integration of Live action physical theatre and animation is a triumph ... I guess its just not for everyone 8-)
While the play is advertised as funny, ground breaking delightful and deliciously sly by many magazines, I found it depressive and very noisy. The surrounding music in the background felt extremely annoying – repetitive and grueling.
The play is designed as a satirical swipe at the technology generation, so instead of growing bigger as in the original Jewish tale, Golem is going versioning, miniaturized, speedy.. oh.. such an original and brilliant idea.. is this new.. similar biased satire seen many times around robotic technology..
Should admit that animation is good. But the play is not funny in any sense, not at all..
