2015 sees the return of the hit show Into The Hoods, which puts a contemporary twist on the classic story Into The Woods, and in the process introduces audiences to a production that was previously seen in 2008. This is a remixed version of the previous hit and as a result even those that are familiar with the original will find plenty to enjoy during its autumn run at the Peacock Theatre.
The show features a remixed soundtrack and revamped choreography with Kate Prince, the Associate Artist of Sadler’s Wells, as director. As well as working for the Islington venue, she is also the founder of ZooNation and has been behind a wealth of original productions that have earned her great praise. She was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Into The Hoods, but with ZooNation she has also presented the likes of Some Like It Hip Hop.
Into The Hoods: REMIXED transports audiences to the Ruff Enz Estate and it is here that we meet two lost kids who must locate various items and along the way bump into some memorable characters. So as they find objects like hoodies and iPods they also come across Lil Red, DJ Spinderella and Rap On Zel, amongst others.
The Peacock Theatre is the West End home of Sadler’s Wells and both venues regularly stage some of the biggest dance shows in the capital. The venues attract international talent, with 2016 seeing the acclaimed artist bring Immortal Tango to the Peacock.
Into The Hood: REMIXED appears before that when it runs at the Peacock Theatre until mid-November 2015.
