2010 is shaping up to be an interesting year for the Garrick Theatre, with its autumn season featuring an abundance of concerts from some renowned names in the musical theatre world. Amongst them is the team-up between the well known composer Jason Robert Brown and the singer Anika Noni Rose. With theatre tickets for this show, audiences will be able to witness two accomplished and talented names take to the stage and perform some popular tracks.
With Jason Robert Brown and Anika Rose live in concert, audiences will witness the pair perform a range of songs that come from the back catalogue of the famous American composer. There will also be brand new compositions thrown into the mix, with The Caucasian Rhythm Kings backing up Noni Rose to add extra dimensions to Brown’s work (as well as various other musicians). The result is likely to be a stand-out show and something that audiences will remember for some time to come.
Jason Robert Brown has been producing some admired pieces of work for many years, with his skills as a musical theatre composer highlighted with some well-received shows, in addition to his 2005 album “Wearing Someone Else’s Clothes”. His career has seen him work on shows such as “Urban Cowboy”, “The Last Five Years” and “13” and these span a period of time that goes back to the mid 1990s.
And with Anika Noni Rose taking to the stage with him it is likely to be a stand out show. The American singer is a Tony Award winner and highly sought-after star who has appeared in numerous high profile Broadway shows and also made the transition to the screen. Recently she provided her voice to the Disney animated movie “The Princess and the Frog”, whilst her other credits include “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and “Footloose” on Broadway, plus the movie “Dreamgirls”.
Audiences can catch Jason Robert Brown and Anika Noni Rose as they both make their appearances at the Garrick Theatre on Friday 24th September 2010 and Saturday 25th September 2010.
