With Jerry Lee Lewis hitting his 80th birthday, it’s time to say goodbye to the American icon of rock and roll with this Farewell UK Tour. Set to entertain the crowds at the London Palladium this September, it will be one of many stand-out gigs for audiences in the West End this year, though this is certainly going to be high on the lists of fans around the country.
After all, this will be the last chance of UK fans of Jerry Lee Lewis to see him live in the flesh as he takes to the stage to perform a range of hits from his long and impressive career in the spotlight.
Lewis is regarded as a leader in the world of rock and roll. He emerged in the 1950s alongside a wealth of similarly-iconic artists like Johnny Cash and has since released a wealth of records with rock and roll and country leanings, whilst also touring the world alongside artists such as Chuck Berry. His albums over the decades include 1958’s Jerry Lee Lewis, She Even Woke Me Up To Say goodbye in 1970, Jerry Lee Keeps Rockin’ in 1978 and Last Man Standing in 2006, amongst many others. He is also well known for songs like Great Balls Of Fire and Me And Bobby McGee, to name but two.
So in a year that also sees An Evening With Liza Minnelli take to the stage of the London Palladium, Jerry Lee Lewis heads to the stage as part of his 80th Birthday Farewell UK Tour on Sunday 6th September 2015.
