This fantastic musical has already taken audiences by storm in the West End, where it picked up numerous Laurence Olivier Awards and now those at the Manchester Opera House will have an opportunity to get in on the action as the show opens here for a run that begins in September. Though it will be a brief appearance, it is plenty of time to get with the spirit and visit one of the most exciting new musicals for years.
Anyone that is familiar with the movie “Legally Blonde” with Reece Witherspoon will be familiar with the plot of this musical adaptation. But if you’re unfamiliar, you will be excited to meet the character of Elle Woods, who is dumped by her boyfriend at the beginning of the show, who cites his reasons as needing someone a little more serious. So she aims to prove that she can be as serious as the next girl by ditching the credit cards and signing up for a course at Harvard Law School.
The touring version of the show has also met success – just like its West End counterpart – so audiences that pick up theatre tickets are in for a real treat when “Legally Blonde the Musical” rolls into town. After all, it stands up alongside some well known hits (like “Grease”, which also appears at the Manchester Palace Theatre in October) and has become one of the most talked-about shows in years.
“Legally Blonde the Musical” proudly appears at the Manchester Opera House from Tuesday 11th September 2012 and then continues to Saturday 22nd September 2012.
