In November 2013 it was announced that Monty Python would be reuniting to present a series of shows at The O2 Arena in London. Operating under the banner of Monty Python Live (mostly), the show will see John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam return as the group that made them famous.

Promising some classic sketches, as well as brand new skits, Monty Python Live (mostly) will be the perfect way of revisiting the work of this influential sketch comedy group, which made the members into household names and inspired countless comedians in the generations since.

Monty Python’s most famous work is the sketch comedy television show Monty Python’s Flying Circus, which aired from 1969 to 1974, though they also released a series of successful movies as well. From Life Of Brian to The Holy Grail, these films remain as benchmarks for comic movies and are quoted by audiences around the world. This is why the original plan of having one performance in July 2014 of Monty Python Live soon turned into a number of extra dates throughout the month as audiences from around the world realised that this was an unbeatable chance to see one of the best known comedy troupes of the 20th century.

And it also means that London remains the best place to celebrate the work of Monty Python, with Monty Python’s Spamalot continuing at the Playhouse Theatre until mid-April 2014.

But for those wishing to see the actual members of Monty Python (minus Graham Chapman, who died in 1989) can pick up tickets to see the members at the O2 Arena for dates throughout July 2014.
