Quite disappointed after seeing my first sleeping beauty last year. Narrator was too often centre stage and spoke far too much. Pantomime style shouting was not appropriate. Sets dull and uninspiring. Hope next year's will be better. Dancing, however, was lovely.
Charming performance. I thought the dancers lit up the stage and my 4 year old daughter was captivated. The narration took some getting used to but overall worked well and kept the 'little ones'' attention. The dancing was vibrant and of an excellent standard so I would highly recommend this show for those with young children interested in ballet and any adults who want to see some talented dancers.
I actually felt a little depressed leaving this show. I had so been looking forward to introducing my 5 yo son to ballet but there was no magic here. Very dull sets (the falling glitter in the last scene was the highlight) and broken up, far too simple choreography (apart from the clock and C and the P running through lines of dancers). The narrator was absolutely wonderful but I would have liked a little less narration (so the children are introduced to the idea of reading the dancer's gestures), a little less pantomine shouting and music that wasn't quite so loud and tinny. Not nearly enough magic, imagination or beauty. Seemed shabby and uninspired. Please shape up for next year as I love the idea and don't mind the odd stumbling (which happened perhaps a little too often for graduating dancers!) but do mine that my son's first ballet experience was so dull and so noisy.
My 3 daughters (aged between 3 and 8) loved it. The 3 year old was captivated. I thought it was pitched at exactly the right level with beautiful dancing and a narrator explaining what was happening. We will definitely watch out for next year's.
Really disappointing, not magical, dull and very simple choreography, dancers looked like they couldnt be bothered. Lead Cinderella & Prince missed 3 lifts in their solo and tried to control their laughs, it was embarassing! not worth the ticket price at all, which is such a shame as i was expecting it to be magical after 'My First Sleeping Beauty' which was. Dull, Dull, Dull
