Respect La Diva

“Respect La Diva” is a unique production that is headed to the Garrick Theatre for an anticipated run September 2011, offering London theatre audiences the chance to celebrate the work of female vocalists over the decades. The show features the creator and co-producer of “Thriller Live” Adrian Grant – in addition to one of the show’s performers Denise Pearson – but whereas that show focuses its attention solely on the late King of Pop, “Respect La Diva” is set to cast a wider net. So when Theatre Tickets go on sale, there will be plenty of people wanting to celebrate the work of some iconic artists.

Denise Pearson is just one of the stars making her way to the stage for the production and in addition to the female vocalists being celebrated – everyone from Shirley Bassey and Aretha Franklin to Beyonce and Alicia Keys – there will be some talented singers bringing their songs to life. So expect the likes of Pearson, Sheila Ferguson, Katy Setterfield, Zoe Birkett and Andy Abraham to make a huge impression. The latter is a well known former contestant of “The X Factor”, who has since released an abundance of studio albums and is set to host the production.

Singer Sheila Ferguson is best known for her stint in the soul group The Three Degrees, who has since embarked on a career that has kept her squarely in the spotlight. She has released numerous songs, including cover versions of work from The Three Degrees, whilst also appearing television programmes such as “Never Mind the Buzzcocks” and “I’m a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here!”. Meanwhile, she has also worked in musical theatre by working alongside others on a show called “Hot Flush”.

Meanwhile, she will be performing alongside “Thriller Live” actress Denise Pearson, who is also known to audiences for being a member of the group Five Star in the 1980s and 1990s. With them she released numerous albums and also earned a Grammy Award nomination in 1986, before embarking on a career working alongside musicians such as Matt Goss whilst also planning a solo career.

“Respect La Diva” is set for a brief appearance at the Garrick Theatre from Wednesday 7th September 2011 to Saturday 24th September 2011.
