18-22 Greenside Place
The Edinburgh Playhouse is situated on Greenside Place, at the top of Leith Walk and close to the east end of Princes Street. This is less than 10 minute's walk from Waverley Station, 5 minutes walk from the bus station and on various major bus routes.
One of the best known musicals of all time heads to the Scottish capital for a run that will put a smile on the face of any musical theatre fan. March 2013 sees the Edinburgh Playhouse transform into home of the mad scientist Frank ‘n’ Furter. The musical has been a staple of the stage around the world since it premiered in London in the early 1970s and fans and enthusiasts regularly celebrate this wonderful piece of work.
And as you might expect, the cast is plenty to boast about, with Rhydian from “The X Factor” among the performers (though not on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays), as well as Oliver Thornton and Roxanne Pallett, all working under the direction of Christopher Luscombe.
We follow the couple Brad and Janet as they happen upon the home of Frank ‘n’ Furter and discover something sinister behind its doors – including his creation Rocky Horror. But “The Rocky Horror Show” is famous for its music as much as its story and this is because we are treated to hits like “Time Warp”, “Damn It Janet” and more. Such hits have ensured that audiences continue to flock to pick up theatre tickets for a memorable evening.
“The Rocky Horror Show” appears in the same month as shows like “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” with a run beginning on Monday 11th March 2013.
