The English National Ballet presents a triple bill at Sadler’s Wells in Islington. An unmissable evening of new piece put together by the enormously talented Aszure Barton, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Yabin Wang
These female choreographers are at the top of their game and She Said will ensure a wide audience for these must-see pieces. After all, the three talents have worked around the world and amassed many admirers thanks to their memorable works.
Aszure Barton’s piece focuses on the dancers as individuals. The Canadian choreographer has worked with some of the world’s most prestigious dance companies, from the National Ballet of Canada to the Sydney Dance Company, and she has also made her mark on Broadway and with big names worldwide. With her new piece she works with composer Mason Bates and the result are likely to be memorable and thought provoking.
Annabelle Lopez Ochoa works with director Nancy Meckler and their piece explores Frida Kahlo, the Mexican artist well known for a terrible accident and putting together self-portraits up to her death in 1954.
Yabin Wang works with composer Jocelyn Pook for a piece that combines classical China with the Greek legend of Medea.
She Said runs at Sadler’s Wells from Wednesday 13th April 2016.
