Songs for a New World

The St James Theatre becomes the new home of Songs For A New World, the popular off-Broadway show that delves into the hard hitting moments of life. The well known piece, by the composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown, makes a brief appearance at the Victoria venue from July and will welcome an impressive cast of performers to the stage.

The show will feature Cynthia Erivo in a lead role alongside Jenna Russell, Damian Humbley and Dean John Wilson. Meanwhile, direction will come from London theatre director Adam Lenson, whose work has been seen around the capital.

The exploration of the moments in life that shape us is a celebrated and unique production that takes characters and settings and melds them together into something extraordinary.

Director Adam Lenson has previously brought productions to West End venues like the Trafalgar Studios (Ordinary Days) and the Duke of York’s Theatre (West End Recast). Beyond these he has also directed Saturn Returns at the Finborough Theatre and other shows around the country such as Everything Else Happened at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

But with Songs For A New World he will find a new audience once again, who will flock to see this celebrated piece performed by top talent. Prior to this production at the St James Theatre, the show has previously been staged at the Bridewell Theatre in 2001 and before then was seen in New York in an Off-Broadway venue and other US locations like Missouri.

Audiences can pick up theatre tickets for Songs For A New World for performances beginning on Friday 24th July 2015 (previews from Wednesday 22nd July 2015).
