Marti Webb returns to the role that made her name as she portrays the unnamed solo character in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tell Me On A Sunday, which plays in the West End following its run at the St James Theatre. The show originally featured Webb when it premiered at the Palace Theatre in 1982 and this time it is the turn of the Duchess Theatre to host this acclaimed and celebrated production.

The one-woman show has been seen on an international stage since its early 1980s debut, with Webb following the production to Broadway and even finding chart success when a single of the musical number Take That Look Off Your Face landed at number three. So it is a show that is deserving of its place in the West End once again in 2014, more than thirty years since its debut.

In Tell Me On A Sunday we meet an English girl who travels across the Atlantic to New York and it is in the United States that she experiences love and losses there and during her stay in Los Angeles with a Hollywood film producer. It is a misadventure that has resonated with audiences, both with this original version and the version that was combined with a ballet on Broadway to form the show Song And Dance.

Marti Webb has plenty of experience not only because of previous appearances in Tell Me On A Sunday, but also from additional performances on stages on both sides of the Atlantic. So audiences may have seen her work in shows ranging from Blood Brothers to The King And I, in addition to numerous appearances on television programmes.

In a year that also sees performances of The Wind in the Willows and Not I, Footfalls, Tell Me On A Sunday enjoys a brief run at the Duchess Theatre from Tuesday 18th February 2014.
