The Blues Brothers

Fans of the Blues Brothers can rejoice as this stand-out tribute show heads to the Arts Theatre for a Christmas run. With Judith Belushi (widow of John Belushi) providing new material from Blues Brothers Approves Ventures, plus some of the best songs of the rock ‘n’ roll, blues and soul scene, this is not something that crowds will want to miss.

As a result new material will mix with some stellar performances, with well known songs like Soul Man, Jailhouse Rock and more making it to the stage in the West End. It is the perfect way to celebrate the Blues Brothers this Christmas.

The Blues Brothers are of course the famous blues band formed by Dan Akroyd and John Belushi back in the 1970s. As well as featuring in sketches on Saturday Night Live they also made it to the big screen in the 1980 film The Blues Brothers, with audiences around the world responding to the compelling story and stand-out musical numbers. As a result the have become an irreplaceable part of popular culture despite the death of John Belushi in 1982.

The show is one of many in the capital to celebrate the work of well known musicians and films, with the likes of Thriller Live continuing at the Lyric Theatre. The Dominion Theatre is also the home of Elf The Musical this Christmas season, with a talented team bringing to life the adaptation of the well known film.

But Blues Brothers fans will want to head to the Arts Theatre for the Blues Brother Christmas Special, which opens Friday 4th December 2015 (previews from Thursday 26th November 2015).
