The Last Tango

Audiences have enjoyed many of their stage shows over the years, perhaps most notably Midnight Tango, but soon they will have the chance to experience their final London production as Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace return to the West End.

The Last Tango is the big goodbye from the nation’s favourite tango duo, well known for their work on Strictly Come Dancing, and following a UK national tour they now make a big impression at the Phoenix Theatre, where they will celebrate a fantastic career under one of the capital’s most prestigious roofs.

The Last Tango includes routines plucked from the great dance forms, from the tango to the salsa, whilst a story unfolds around the character of George. He goes up to his attic and looks through his old possessions, causing him to take a trip down memory lane. This compelling and familiar tale will expertly be told in the West End alongside some of the most impressive dancing the country has to offer.

Simone and Cacace have enjoyed a long time in the spotlight. Their work has seen them pick up numerous awards and accolades, making them one of the nation’s best loved dance duos. They are UK Ballroom Champions who have also been crowned winners of for the UK Professional Ten Dance on numerous occasions.

And that’s not even getting to their time on Strictly Come Dancing, which has seen them pair up with some of the nation’s biggest stars on one of the country’s biggest television programmes. Both Simone and Cacace appeared from 2006 to 2012 and inevitably provided some of the show’s memorable moments as they individually danced alongside the likes of Rachel Stevens, Edwina Currie, Craig Kelly and Louis Smith, amongst others.

With credentials like that it is no wonder they continue to draw in the crowds whenever they return to the West End with this stand-out show.

But now they make their final appearance here, following up Dance ‘Til Dawn and Midnight Tango with The Last Tango, directed by Karen Bruce, at the Phoenix Theatre. It begins performances on Thursday 22nd September 2016.
