One of the West End’s best known shows travels north of the border this Autumn for an anticipated appearance at Edinburgh’s Playhouse Theatre. “The Phantom of the Opera” is known around the world for its compelling story and glorious music put together by the king of the West End himself Andrew Lloyd Webber. So it is an opportunity to pick up theatre tickets and step back in time to the Paris Opera House 100 years ago and experience one of the most iconic stories ever told.

In “The Phantom of the Opera” we visit the Paris Opera House where audiences regularly witness some of the most awe-inspiring shows around and where a legendary figure lurks behind the scenes and make appearances at the most inopportune times. The legend – known as the Phantom - is a composer who is disfigured and hides his face behind a signature mask and appears to wreak havoc when things don’t go his way. When Christine Daaé, a beautiful young singer that the Phantom admires, enters the picture, all hell breaks loose.

So with “The Phantom of the Opera” continuing at Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End, the touring version now heads to Edinburgh with a run at the Playhouse Theatre from Wednesday 19th September 2012 to Saturday 20th October 2012.
