The Wyndham’s Theatre in London’s West End will get a treat this winter as “Christmas with the Rat Pack” opens its doors. But as the production runs well into January the Christmas themes would be out of place and for this reason audiences heading to the venue after Saturday 7th January 2012 will be treated to the standard version of the show “The Rat Pack Live from Vegas”. As such, seasonal songs like “Let It Snow” will make way for other classic tracks like “New York, New York”, giving audiences a chance to celebrate the work of the Rat Pack well into January.
The Rat Pack was a famous collection of singers and actors who mostly performed in the 1960s in Las Vegas, attracting eager fans from all over the world and also finding time to star in a range of well remembered movies. The line-up was most famously made up of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin (the team that is celebrated in “The Rat Pack Live from Vegas”), with Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop also recognised as part of the line-up during their run. From their performances at the Sands Hotel in Vegas to their starring roles in movies like “The Canonball Run” and “Ocean’s Eleven”, they have left a lasting impression.
And now London theatre audiences can witness a stand-out tribute to their work at the Wyndham’s Theatre, where talented performers recreate their best hits and take audiences back to Vegas in the 1960s.
“The Rat Pack Live from Vegas” follows “Christmas with the Rat Pack” at the Wyndham’s Theatre from Monday 9th January 2011 until Saturday 21st January 2011.
