The hit musical Titanic makes its way back to the stage in London, providing audiences at the Charing Cross Theatre with the true story of RMS Titanic on her tragic maiden voyage in 1912.
The show will be directed by Thom Southerland, the new Artistic Director of the Charing Cross Theatre, and there’s no doubt he will bring a lot of talent to the stage as he brings a Broadway hit to London once again.
The story focuses on the final hour on that fateful voyage of the Titanic, when she struck an iceberg near Newfoundland and sunk, taking with her the lives of many of its passengers.
This is a musical production that was first seen in the United States in the late 1990s and enjoyed a successful revival at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013 prior to its next arrival in London at the Charing Cross Theatre. Thom Southerland directs and utilises lyrics by Maury Yetson and book from Peter Stone.
The tragic fate of the Titanic has been the subject of numerous films, television shows, books and more since it sank in the Atlantic Ocean over a century ago. It continues to capture the attention of audiences and it will undoubtedly provide a memorable experience in 2016.
It runs at the Charing Cross Theatre from Saturday 28th May 2016.
