Back in 2008 audiences flocked to the Peacock Theatre to witness Into The Hoods, a stand-out production from Zoo Nation that puts a modern spin on the classic Into The Woods. Now, the company that also brought us the likes of Some Like It Hip Hop returns to the Peacock Theatre with this remixed version of a classic piece of dance.
Its story takes audiences to the Ruff Enz Estate and focuses on a quest by two lost kids who have to find an array of items and along the way meet some interesting characters. They are required to find objects like iPods, hoodies and more, but the big surprises come in the forms of Rap On Zel, Lil Red, DJ Spinderella and more. With some great choreography and music, this is a spectacular production that will leave those with theatre tickets wanting even more.
The show is directed by Kate Prince, the Associate Artist of Sadler’s Wells, the Islington venue that runs the Peacock Theatre in the West End. She has previously directed various shows like Zoo Nation’s Some Like It Hip Hop at the Peacock Theatre and BoxBeat at Sadler’s Wells.
As this is a remixed version of Into The Hoods, audiences can expect a new experience from Zoo Nation this time around, with choreography, set designs and music all getting a makeover to offer something fresh.
This year Sadler’s Wells continues to welcome the very best in dance at its venue in Islington and its West End outlet at the Peacock Theatre. Whilst audiences can enjoy the likes of Breakin' Convention: Borderline at Sadler’s Wells this year, Zoo Nation: Into The Hood Remixed runs at the Peacock Theatre from Friday 23rd October 2015.
