We saw the final matinee on 27th June. Fabulous production from set to the brilliant actors. John Goodman and Damian Lewis were superb , as expected, and Tom Sturridge was a revelation. Thoroughly enjoyable, funny and very touching.
Watched the understudy show Thursday 21st may - performed brilliantly by Ed Wolstenholme John Goodman and George Evans
- hope there is recognition for the understudys as John Goodman allowed them to shine - funny, sad, incredibly watchable - superb.
Absolutely brilliant. Damien Lewis is made for the part as Teach where he is in turn brash, cocky, worldly, bullying, shallow and finally pitiful. John Goodman - first West End production but surely not his last - pours his soul into his time on stage, which is the entire show length. At times their interaction is similar to Laurel and Hardy at their best! Tom Sturridge is heart breaking as the, eager to please, drug addled stooge for Lewis and Goodmans "wiseguys". Dont miss it.
