The Arts Theatre welcomes “American Justice” to its stage in 2013, not only debuting Richard Vergette’s play in the West End but also showcasing the performing talents of Ryan Gage, Peter Tate, David Schaal and Piers Foley. The production lands at the venue in January and will also featuring Lisa Forrell as it director.
“American Justice” uses its setting within the American prison system to look at the bigger picture of American idealism under the 8 year Obama White House. Plugged as a political thriller that looks at issues of guilt, the show has earned widespread praise at other locations and arrives in the West End ready to show London audiences with theatre tickets how this has amassed such acclaim.
Director Lisa Forrell has been behind a wealth of projects on both sides of the Atlantic, with London shows like “Rue Magique” at the King’s Head Theatre, “Tabloid Caligula” at the Arcola Theatre and “Johnson is Leaving” at the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Swan Theatre among her credits. In the US she has directed touring shows like “Love Exposed”. So she is more than capable of bringing the necessary spark to a production like this.
And it lands at the Arts Theatre, a venue well used to innovative and compelling pieces of theatre, with a run beginning on Thursday 10th January 2013.
