As a Shakespeare enthusiast for more than 30 years, this was just up my street. An excellent performance from the greatly talented Simon Callow, bringing his lifetime's experience of classical acting and enthusiasm to Shakespeare's life and work.

Johnathan Bate's one man play was fascinating and the biographical content well matched to the extracts and wordplay. Callow brought many passages from about twenty of the plays to life.

His stamina and accuracy were most impressive. A must see for theatre goers and scholars alike.
