One of the best known comedians working in the United Kingdom returns to a West End stage this November with his latest show “Dandelion Mind”. It is the latest in a long line of well-crafted and side-splittingly funny one man shows from the mighty Bill Bailey, whose previous productions and tours like “Tinselworm” and “Part Troll” have proven to be hugely popular. Utilising his usual mixture of stand-up comedy with hilarious songs, in the process demonstrating a musical ability that would put many rock stars to shame, “Bill Bailey: Dandelion Mind” is likely to be a stand out show for those armed with theatre tickets in the latter months of 2010.
In “Dandelion Mind”, Bill will be exploring themes and topics relating to doubt as he delivers stories and routines plucked from his travels and his imaginative brain. But it would not be a Bill Bailey show with musical interludes and he has put together a host of new songs with which to impress audiences once again, with new instruments thrown into the mix as well. So expect surreal comedy, observations, an assured musical presence and even some serious thought in there somewhere as “Dandelion Mind” arrives at the Wyndham’s Theatre.
Bill Bailey has been devoting a lot of energy into stand up recent years, quitting his regular role as team captain on the long-running panel show “Never Mind the Buzzcocks” and returning to stages across the country. The bearded comedian is well known for both the DVDs of these shows and for other television appearances he has made. In addition to “Buzzcocks” he has appeared in “Black Books”, “QI”, “Have I Got News For You” and “Spaced”, whilst also making time for movies like “Hot Fuzz” and the upcoming “Burke and Hare”.
So London is proving to be a great place to catch some high quality comedy once again, with other shows such as Pam Ann: Flying High appearing in the capital and other comedians such as Matt Lucas appearing in The Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert. For comedy fans, visiting a London theatre is a must.
Bill Bailey: Dandelion Mind appears at the Wyndham’s Theatre from Tuesday 2nd November 2010 to Saturday 4th December 2010.
