It’s the turn of those in the West End to witness David Benson’s wonderful portrayal of Boris Johnson as the Edinburgh Festival hit makes its way to the Trafalgar Studios in Whitehall. With Benson taking to the stage alongside Alice McCarthy this will be a great chance to see a master impressionist perform under the direction of Yaz Al-Shaater.
The show was positively received in the Scottish capital and now follows in the footsteps of a wealth of hits to make the transition from there to London. But London is undoubtedly the best place to see it, with audience members more familiar with Johnson’s work than anyone else!
In Boris: World King, we see Boris Johnson (Benson) take to the stage and deliver us his life story. David Benson’s impersonation will chronicle his school days right up to his position of power on the London Assembly. It will be a comic look at a well known politician whose own comic exploits are well-documented.
David Benson is no stranger to brining well known names to life, with his show Think No Evil Of Us: My Life With Kenneth Williams previously playing in the West End. He also appeared in one of the capital’s most successful shows of recent years with One Man, Two Guvnors at the Lyttelton National Theatre.
But now he takes on his biggest role yet, bringing a political power house to the stage and providing a comic look at one of the nation’s best known politicians.
Boris: World King runs at the Trafalgar Studios 2 from Thursday 21st April 2016 (previews from Tuesday 19th April 2016).
