Audiences in the West End will get an opportunity to witness something profound and thought-provoking this January as Stuart Slade’s powerful, yet comedic play BU21 is staged at the Trafalgar Studios 2.
BU21 takes you right into the heart of something feared by many around the world thanks to its presence in the modern news cycle. It asks us to confront something horrifying right on our doorsteps, all while keeping humanity intact.
The show is set in London and it is here that we follow six people as the nation’s capital comes under attack as a normal day turns to a nightmare with a single flash. The city is under the grips of an act of terrorism and the lives of those caught up in it will never be the same.
Stuart Slade’s script has already won over audiences thanks to the show’s staging at Theatre503 in March 2016. It was directed by Dan Pick (who returns to direct this West End transfer) and was the latest in a line of shows in which the two talents have collaborated, with previous credits including Cans and Deep Throat, both at Theatre503 in 2014.
BU21 won over both audiences and critics, with various reviews heaping it with praise, much like their previous efforts, and with that in mind it is no wonder we are now witnessing it in the West End. Expect this to get a lot of deserved attention when it opens early in 2017.
BU21 makes its appearance in the West End when it runs at the Trafalgar Studios 2 from Wednesday 11th January 2017 (previews from Wednesday 4th January 2017).
