(5mins) Go right on Long Acre; turn right into Bow Street and after 100 metres turn left (Russell Street) then immediately right onto Catherine Street, where the theatre is located 100 metres down on the corner with Aldwych.
Following its run at the Shaftesbury Theatre in 2011, Derren Brown’s “Svengali” is set for a West End return this year as it heads to the Novello Theatre. The production will see Derren Brown entertain London theatre audiences with his signature style of ‘mind melting’ and it is certain to leave a lasting impression; after all, previous productions have earned great acclaim and have also been on the receiving end of awards so it is likely that we will have another hit on our hands when it runs from July to August 2012.
Little is actually known about “Svengali” and this is because those that have picked up theatre tickets and witnessed the show are sworn to secrecy, allowing for plenty of surprises when new audiences head to the Novello. But anyone that is familiar with the work of Derren Brown will be ready to expect his usual techniques involving psychological illusion and participation from the audience.
Brown has been a signature television personality for over a decade now and during his time in the spotlight he has presented numerous television series, television specials and stage shows. His series “Mind Control” and “Trick of the Mind” both made him a big name and he has also made headlines for the likes of “Derren Brown Plays Russian Roulette Live” and “Derren Brown: Miracles for Sale”. Meanwhile, his previous West End credits include “Mind Reader: An Evening of Wonders” at the Garrick Theatre, “Something Wicked This Way Comes” at the Cambridge Theatre.
“Derren Brown: Svengali” heads to the Novello Theatre for a brief run from Tuesday 17th July 2012 (previews from Thursday 12th July 2012) to Saturday 11th August 2012.
