The hits of Charles Dickens are explored in Dickens Abridged at the Arts Theatre from one of the creators of the The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare (Abridged). Presented by Adam Long and produced by Alex Jackson-Long, the piece will take us on a comedic journey that explores the work of the famous author and it is likely to be an entertaining hit when it opens in November 2013.
The show will take us head first into the Greatest Hits of Dickens and will do so with a cast of fans hailing from California as various well known characters are brought to life onstage. It is described as high-speed and is certain to be an enjoyable production for fans and non-fans of Dickens alike.
Adam Long is a performer who was one of the founders of the Reduced Shakespeare Company and it is with them that he created the likes of The Reduced Shakespeare Radio show and others. In the years since he left the company he has presented stages shows like Star Wars Shortened for Sky and The Condensed History Of Political Parties for the BBC. In 2008 he also presented Dickens Abridged (when it went by the name Dickens Unplugged) at the Comedy Theatre (now the Harold Pinter Theatre) in 2008.
So if you are a fan of Dickens, or even a fan of the previous work of Adam Long, this is the show for you. Dickens Abridged is set to run during a year that also brings us Storm In A Flower Vase and will open at the Arts Theatre from Wednesday 27th November 2013.
