The Lyric Theatre is hosting an unmissable series of one to one conversations with high profile stars of the stage from January 2014.
On monthly Monday evenings audiences with theatre tickets be able to sit down at the Lyric for some intimate talks with titans of the stage; actors that have made an impact on those that have seen them treat the boards.
The first two guests of series are Lenny Henry, who appears on Monday 20th January 2014, and David Suchet, who appears a month later on Monday 24th February 2014, and no doubt some wonderful choices will be employed in the months to follow. Both actors have had huge success in the capital, as well as making a mark on television screens as well, so the chance to see these familiar talents deliver stories from their lives will not be something to miss.
Lenny Henry has made a career as a comic actor, with an array of television appearances since the 1970s, but recent years have seen him emerge as a talented stage performer, ranging from his breakout performance as Othello at the West Yorkshire Playhouse (and then the West End) to his more recent appearance in Fences at the Duchess Theatre in 2013. Meanwhile, David Suchet is best known for his performance as Hercule Poirot for the ITV television series, though he has also appeared on the stage in the likes of All My Sons at the Apollo Theatre and Passion Play at the Duke of York’s Theatre, among others.
In addition to the star performers, Fiona Lindsay has been announced as the interviewer.
The Lyric Theatre, which is the usual home of the long-running Thriller Live, hosts the first two editions of ENCOUNTERS: Performers on Performance on Monday 20th January 2014 and Monday 24th February 2014, with more to follow monthly after that.
