Fans of Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise will have the opportunity to pick up theatre tickets and relive their favourite sketches at the St James Theatre from December as Eric and Little Ern returns to the capital following its appearance at the Vaudeville Theatre in 2013. Featuring Jonty Stephens and Ian Ashpitel as the famous duo it will be a chance to look at some of the very performances that made the original names famous.

And to top it all off, this is an extended version of the show seen in the West End, so even those that have already seen it will find new things to enjoy.

In Eric And Little Ern we will not only see two men breathtakingly take on the role of the famous stars they will also source the original scripts to some of their most famous sketches to bring new life to these routines. They will utilise the famous performances penned by Eddie Braben, Dick Hills and Sid Green to put a smile on the faces of audiences.

Jonty Stephens, who plays Eric Morecambe in the show, has appeared in a range of television programmes over the years, with recurring parts in the likes of EastEnders, Coronation Street, Holby City, Doctors and WPC 56, in addition to appearances in Peaky Blinders, Love & Marriage and Hollyoaks, among others. So it is possible that audiences in the capital will recognise his work from a range of different areas.

Ian Ashpitel, meanwhile, has also appeared in television productions, ranging from The Armando Iannucci Show and Heartbeat to The Bill and, more recently, Thin Ice. He has lso taken on stage roles, so those that have witnessed the likes of Brighton Rock on a UK tour, Tittle Tattle at the Edinburgh Festival and The Merchant Of Venice on tour.

In a year that brought Breeders to the same location (and saw the transfer of the venue’s Urinetown the Musical to the Apollo Theatre), the St James Theatre welcomes Eric And Little Ern from Tuesday 16th December 2014.
