The Trafalgar Studios 2 in Whitehall welcomes this compelling drama Four Minutes Twelve Seconds this November, giving those in the West End the chance to see something that won over the crowds when it previously appeared at the Hampstead Theatre. The production is penned by James Fritz, adding to a collective effort that ensured the show earned a well-deserved Laurence Olivier nomination last year, so it will be with great anticipation that the show is seen in the West End with many of its cast members making the journey too.
In Four Minutes Twelve Seconds we meet parents Di and David (Kate Maravan and Jonathan McGuinness), plus their seventeen year old son Jack. Questions arise following a particular incident outside the school gates, one that turns perceptions upside down as Di and David had done everything to ensure Jack had an accomplished upbringing.
The show is directed by Anna Ledwich, who has a range of credits to her name, including previous shows that have appeared at the Hampstead Theatre, including Deluge at the Hampstead theatre Downstairs this year. Her other credits include Table at Stratford Circus and How Does A Snake Shed Its Skin in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, actor Jonathan McGuinness has also previously worked with the Hampstead Theatre prior to Four Minutes Twelve Seconds, having appeared in Comfort Me With Apples, which ran in 2007.
As well as McGuiness and Maravan, the show also stars Ria Zmitrowcz, who also appeared in the Hampstead Theatre version of the show.
Four Minutes Twelve Seconds appears at the Trafalgar Studios 2 during a time in which shows like The Wasp are also set to appear. The Anna Ledwich-led production runs at the Whitehall venue from Thursday 12th November 2015 (previews from Tuesday 10th November 2015).
