This December audiences can witness “Ida Barr’s Festive Bingo” at the Arts Theatre in London’s West End, giving London theatre audiences the brief opportunity to witness the Music Hall R’n’B star live onstage. Regularly proclaimed as the world’s first Grandma Gangsta Rapper, she is known for tracks such as “I’ll Slap Yer Leg (And Tell Yer Mum)” (alongside Dizze Rascal) and many more.
Formerly a music hall singer, Ida Barr is said to have given that up to begin a life as a rapper and has previously performed in two solo shows. This time around we will get some Christmas bingo to sink our false teeth into.
Ida Barr is the alter-ego of performer Christopher Green, who has previously appeared on some prestigious stages like the Royal Albert Hall and has many other characters in addition to the famous rapping granny. Alongside Ida he also performs as Tina C, a country music singer, in other shows, as well we Jedd O’Sullivan and Derek Diamond.
This is a unique and memorable show for the festive season and proves that it’s not just kids shows in the West End (like “The Gruffalo”) comes Christmas time. “Ida Barr’s Festive Bingo” appears at the Arts Theatre from Sunday 11th December 2011 to Sunday 18th December 2011.
