As part of the London International Mime Festival 2016, Jakop Ahlborm returns with his latest show Horror, which plays at the Peacock Theatre in January.
The show delves into some of the best known horror movies of all time, referencing their most horrifying moments whilst an original story plays out on stage. The result is likely to be another hit show for the Swedish choreographer, who has previously presented some memorable pieces at the Mime Festival and beyond.
The story transports us to an uninhabited mansion and it is here that we meet a woman who must confront the demons of her past. She is in the location of her childhood, where some of the horrifying truths of her youth took place, and instead of pushing aside these troubling memories she must instead take hold of them.
Jakop Ahlbom has previous put together various shows that have found audiences across Europe, from his debut Stella Maris in 2000 to more recent works like Het Leven Een Gebruiksaanwijzing in 2013 and Bug in 2014. Horror is therefore the latest in a long line of acclaimed pieces that is bound to provide audiences with plenty to remember as part of the London International Mime Festival.
The event takes place in early 2016 and as well as the Peacock Theatre, audiences can also flock to venues like the Barbican to witness some of the best when it comes to the world’s mime artists. The Peacock Theatre provides the stage to shows like this and Familie Flöz’s Infinita.
Horror, providing scares and humour, appears at the Peacock Theatre from Monday 25th January 2016.
