Audiences are in for a treat this March as a brand new comedy makes its way to the Arts Theatre in London’s West End. The show is NotMoses, the creation of Gary Sinyor, and it takes the Biblical Book of Exodus and turns events upside down.

It takes a well-trodden story and replays events from a new perspective and with new results. The effects of this will be felt by audiences in the theatre as they sit back and witness a memorable and evening of comedy.

Gary Sinyor has written the piece and he will direct as well, building on his career as a filmmaker, which has previously seen him complete an array of award-winning productions. His most recent film was the 2014 release United We Fall, a comic documentary that focused on the exploits of former Manchester United players, whilst his career has also included various other interesting stories. In 2005 he directed Tom Green and Brooke Shields in Bob The Butler whilst his other credits include Love Hurts, The Bachelor and Leon The Pig Farmer, amongst others. His work has received various awards and nominations throughout his career.

All of this means that all eyes will be on NotMoses as he brings his talents to the stage in 2016. The story takes us back to Biblical times as NotMoses floats in a basket on the River Nile, only to be plucked from the river by a Princess. But when she spots the nicer Moses in another basket, he is promptly returned to the Nile and embarks on a very different path. He must watch as Moses rises through the ranks in the Pharaoh’s court whilst he lives the hard life of slave.

Ultimately both men face the Lord at the burning bush but perhaps there is yet a third person who will lead the Israelites to freedom after all.

Audiences hoping for an imaginative comedy in 2016 will be right at home with NotMoses when it plays in the West End, joining other comedies in the capital like The Play That Goes Wrong and The Comedy About A Bank Robbery, amongst others.

NotMoses is at the Arts Theatre from Tuesday 15th March 2016 (previews from Thursday 10th March 2016).
