Only Our Own

The Arts Theatre in London’s West End welcomes Only Our Own, a new play from Ann Henning Jocelyn which arrives on the stage under the direction of Lars Gathe.

Only Our Own focuses on three generations of a family of Anglo-Irish members as they attempt to survive in a changing world. Over time everything around takes on a new form as society evolves, culture alters and attitudes change. The play explores the social system and the way in which it affects those within it whilst also looking at the way in which a new society moves in after the last.

Ann Henning Jocelyn is a writer, whose work has included books and plays, penning her first children’s book Honeylove The Bearcub when she was only seven years old and publishing it when she was finding success as an adult. Her plays include Smile, which appeared in Gothenburg, Baptism Of Fire in Galway, The Alternative, which was seen across the country and more recent productions like Doonreagan, which plays the Jermyn Street Theatre in London in 2013.

The end of 2013 welcomse an array of shows to the Arts Theatre, from Storm in a Flower Vase to Pajama Men. Only Our Own then runs at the West End venue from Friday 10th January 2014 (with previews from Wednesday 8th January 2014).
