Audiences in the West End will have the opportunity to witness the acclaimed work of comedian Paul Merton later this year as he takes his new show “Out of My Head” to the Vaudeville Theatre. Not only will it be a chance for audiences to catch one of the highest regarded comedians working in the country, it is also the first time he has delved into the world of stand-up for 14 years.
“Out of My Head” will incorporate a wide range of entertainment forms to create an interesting and unique night, from variety performances and sketches to music and magic, and whilst Merton will be the big draw there will also be appearances from fellow-improv performers like Lee Simpson, Suki Webster and Richard Vranch along the way.
Paul Merton will be recognisable to those with theatre tickets due to his ongoing role as part of “Have I Got News For You”, which has been on air since 1990, though he has also appeared in other television programmes from “Whose Line is it Anyway?” and “Room 101” to documentaries like “Paul Merton’s Silent Clowns” and “Paul Merton’s Birth of Hollywood”.
The Vaudeville Theatre is the home to another comedian this year as well. Omid Djalili will appear in “What the Butler Saw” from May to August. After that, “Paul Merton’s Out of My Head” is at the venue from Monday 1st October 2012 to Saturday 20th October 2012.
