Denise van Outen returns to the West End, this time with a one-woman show that has already wowed audiences across the United Kingdom. Some Girl I Used To Know will see her take to the stage of the Arts Theatre and it is here that the former Chicago star will portray the woman, Stephanie, at the heart of the proceedings, whose world changes over something as seemingly-innocuous as a Facebook ‘poke’.
Stephanie Cranworth is the sort of person you would consider successful – she has a career that would be envied by many, she has a husband by her side and she is adored by the media. So what would it take for all of this to come crashing down? When a former lover sends her a Facebook ‘poke’ her whole world view changes. Suddenly her successful life doesn’t seem so great as memories flood back and she begins to question her position.
The show was penned by Denise van Outen alongside Terry Ronald, with Michael Howcroft directing. It also features songs from the 1980s and 1990s, with Steve Anderson providing their supervision, as explore Stephanie’s life and times.
