Latest Review: "Thoroughly enjoyable, something for all the family...."

It seems that audiences can’t get enough of magic and illusions in the West End as 2015 welcomes a host of shows set to cater to their tastes. Amongst them is this hit show that has already wowed crowds around the world, The Illusionists, as it runs at the Shaftesbury Theatre over the Christmas season.

Boasting an impressive cast made up of some of the biggest talents in the business, The Illusionists heads to the capital in the same year that audiences can also see Impossible at the Noel Coward Theatre and Derren Brown: Miracle at the Palace Theatre and it is clear that all of the shows are unmissable spectacles.

The show is set to feature the likes of magician James Raven, who many will recognise from the series Britain’s Got Talent, as well as Andrew Basso, Colin Cloud, Kevin James and Ben Blaque. Together they present a show with stunts, magic and a dose of humour for good measure. The results have already been tested in various countries and considering their success in those locations it is likely that this will provide a memorable experience for London theatregoers.

Whilst Raven has proven himself to audiences with his work on Britain’s Got Talent, his co-stars are also well known performers. Andrew Basso, for example, is an escape artist with a big reputation in Italy and word-of-mouth is now spreading around the world to ensure he becomes one of the globes hottest talents. Meanwhile, Colin Cloud has also made appearances around the UK and beyond and when not appearing on the stage he has also made an impression on crowds thanks to his television work.

The West End has regularly welcomes illusions and spectacle alongside the thrills and musical theatre and pedigree of plays, so audiences will be right at home with this show when it opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre. It follows in the footsteps of a range of well known shows that have entertained crowds since the 19th century.

The Illusionists: Witness The Impossible runs at the West End’s Shaftesbury Theatre from Monday 16th November 2015 (with previews beginning on Saturday 14th November 2015). It then continues over Christmas and until Sunday 3rd January 2016.
