Great. The only really funny comedy in London this year, or any other that I can think of this century. The idea of an inept bunch of theatricals performing a dreadfully accident prone play is brilliant but was, I suppose, just waiting to be done.
My friend and I went to see this play yesterday (21st November).
I booked this partly on the strength of reviews I had read and thought it sounded like my kind of play. I wasn't wrong - my friend and I were laughing from virtually the start to the finish.
The cast did so badly very well!!! Split second timing and one disaster after another - the rehearsal and practice that goes into this play must be phenomenol. Not one cue was mssed, all went disasterously but was so perfect. Great props - non-stop laughter.
We were both really impressed and it really was a great afternoon's entertainment.
An additional note the Duchess theatre is small but lovely - we were in the dress circle and it was a very relaxing experience. Another plus was it was easy to get our drinks in the interval and bring back to our seats to finish off for the second half of non-stop laughter.
Staff attention was also brilliant - great afternoon's entertainment.
Way past my expectation! , My self & my wife, just sat her efor 2 hours tears rolling down our cheeks, from laughter !!, how this play is performed so deadpan is a credit to the cast! You have to make sure you get there and seated before its the official 'curtain up' starts....theres even jokes & gags before the play starts! - just dont take your dog with you..
What a farce! A 'Whodunnit', an accident-prone cast, inanimate objects stealing the show and tears of laughter. Arrive early; you may see something that may relate to later occurrences!
Fabulous show. We laughed from start to finish. So well done to keep the theme going throughout.
This is really a fantastic production! It was an absolute joy to watch, the actors were fantastic! I would come back to see this again and again....................go see this it is brilliant.
I must admit I thought it wasn't going to be my cup of tea and only went because my family wanted to go. It was the first play that I have been to and was surprised how much I liked it and not at all what I expected. The cast were brilliant and certainly had a really good work out.
I saw this play in Oxford. It was hilarious. I particularly liked the way that the assistant stage manager developed from being a well-meaning half-wit into a ruthless wannabe.
The reviewer who gave this one star plainly (indeed, admittedly) only did so after the management had quite rightly refused her demand, at the interval, to see it for free. (And, what a surprise, some anonymous person later claims to completely agree with her). The hostile reviewer is as risible as the Cornley Polytechnic Amateur Dramatic Society.
No dull moment, laugh all the way
Brilliant I would highly recommend! - absolutely hilarious from beginning to end, laughed so hard I was crying.
