The Trafalgar Studios offers up a story of a couple in Yorkshire, but with a twist, as This Is Living lands on the Whitehall stage in May. The show is the debut play from Liam Borrett (who also directs) and it is set to offer heated moments and shocking revelations whilst also starring some familiar faces.
Michael Socha and Tamla Kari play the onstage couple. The former is best known for his current role in the television series The Aliens whilst the latter has appeared in The Musketeers. So a trip to the Trafalgar Studios this summer will ensure some stand-out performances from gifted young actors.
Socha and Kari portray Michael and Alice in the production and they are a couple with plenty on their minds as they are both cold and isolated in a meadow in Yorkshire. Six years previously they met for the first time and they have since started a relationship that led to the birth of their daughter. But now they are in a heated argument and Alice keeps hearing Michael tell her that she is already dead.
Michael Socha swaps his duties as a border guard in The Aliens with the role of Michael for This Is Living, building on his work in a wealth of television shows and films. He is well known for his portrayal of Harvey in the film This Is England and its television spinoffs This Is England ’86, This Is England ’88 and This Is England ’90, whilst his other credits include Casualty, Being Human and Inspector George Gently.
This Is Living runs at the Trafalgar Studios 2 from May 2016.
