It’s the 50th anniversary year of the BBC’s Doctor Who and whilst an array of celebrations are taking place this year the comedian Toby Hadoke has decided to get in on the action as he brings two of his famous Doctor Who-themed shows to the West End’s Garrick Theatre. For one night only he will present Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf and My Stepson Stole My Sonic Screwdriver for audiences with theatre tickets.
The first of the two is his autobiographical show that looks at his life as a Doctor Who fan, including his own feelings towards his passion. The second, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe last year, follows on from his life since, covering the loss of his partner onwards.
Hadoke has regularly participated in Doctor Who-themed works, whilst also working as a comedian and actor with credits like Phoenix Nights and Coronation Street, whilst previously appearing in the West End in Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf at the Arts Theatre in 2008.
The Garrick Theatre is the home of many shows in 2013 with Rock of Ages continuing its run at the venue and children’s show Horrible Histories Part I and Part II appearing from 2013 to 2014.
Toby Hadoke’s Doctor Who Double Bill, meanwhile, makes its appearance at the Garrick Theatre on Sunday 17th November 2013.
