Relax in Bath!
This ancient city is rich in history and splendour. With a lineage which stretches back to Roman times, Bath is one of those cities which is a ‘must see’ on any tour.
Georgian architecture, leafy streets, hot springs, stylish cafes and restaurants, top quality boutiques…
This elegant city has this and so much more and all of which is easily accessible on our quality range of tours. Here is a chance to step back in time, to a world in which elegant ladies and gentlemen strolled down the tree lined thoroughfares. Walk around the magnificent Abbey where England’s first King was crowned. Visit the Bath Aqua Theatre of Glass and admire the craftsmanship of the glass works of art.
And of course, no visit would be complete without trying a glass of the world famous waters!
Our City Sightseeing tour is an easy hop on, hop off affair in that our luxury coaches will take you round some of the most fascinating sights of the city. You literally can ‘hop on and hop off’ as you do so. Your sightseeing ticket is valid for 24 hours which leaves you plenty of time to explore this city at your leisure.
We do not hurry you on this tour: this is the time to relax and take in the grandeur of this fine city. And, you can treat yourself to a bun courtesy of Sally Lunn’s – Bath’s world famous eating place.
We also provide a ‘Skyline’ Tour: this tour takes you from the railway station past the University and the Prior Park Landscape Garden.
About Bath
‘Taking the waters’ at Bath was a very popular activity in both the 18th and 19th centuries as people came to the town looking for a cure. This is not the case these days but Bath is still famous for its restorative waters. For many visitors, this is the highlight of their visit.
At that time Bath was becoming a fashionable place for the upper classes. They flocked to the Assembly Rooms and Pump Rooms which were THE places to be seen at. And grand, classical style houses were being constructed which are still in evidence today.
Bath is well known for the arts: there is a museum dedicated to the history of the city: the Victoria Art Gallery which is home to works by many leading artists and the Jane Austen Centre. Bath was home to this very famous author and you can find out more about her and Regency life in general at this centre.
Times have changed and so do people’s tastes but Bath is still a firm favourite whose mix of culture and style appeals to all.
