4 Shows we Can’t Wait to see Again in 2016

Thursday, 17th Dec 2015

Whilst a number of new shows will be making their way to the West End in 2016, there are also some long-running favourites we’re excited to see again.

Booking until April 2016

Since The Railway Children opened in November this year Mike Kenny’s Olivier Award-winning stage production of the well-known classic novel by E. Nesbit has become a popular theatre destination for London’s festive theatregoers. The York Theatre Royal production in association with the National Railway Museum has brought the popular tale to life on stage and even features a live steam locomotive. The Railway Children will be playing at its 1,000 seat purpose built King’s Cross Theatre until the 10th of April 2016.

Booking until October 2016

Two of our favourite longer running musicals, Jersey Boys and Mamma Mia will both continue to draw music and theatre lovers alike to their venues until they finally draw to a close in 2016. Based on the true story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Jersey Boys features popular hits such as Walk like a Man and December 1963 (Oh What a Night). The production has taken home over 50 major theatre awards worldwide and will continue to win over the hearts of its audiences until performances end at its Piccadilly Theatre home on the 23rd of October 2016.

Currently playing at the Novello Theatre and booking until the 22nd of October 2016, Mamma Mia has also made its mark around the world and has been seen by over 60 million people in 49 productions. Based on Judy Craymer’s original story featuring some of ABBA’s all-time favourite hits, there’s no surprise the musical has broken box office records at all three of its London venues.
