America Ferrera rumoured for West End debut
America Ferrera, the star of Ugly Betty, is thought to be making her debut appearance on the West End stage next year.
According to the Daily Mail's theatre expert Baz Bamigboye, the actress is to appear alongside Julia Styles in a production of Neil LaBute's reasons to be petty.
The play, which deliberately has its title written in lower case, explores the topic of attractiveness and superficiality.
Originally produced in Broadway 18 months ago, the production completes a trio of plays written by LaBute, with the first and second instalments The Shape of Things and Fat Pig having previously been performed in London.
Howard Panter, joint managing director with Rosemary Squire of the Ambassador Theatre Group, declined to offer any hints on casting to the newspaper but it is though that one of their group's theatre's will stage the show.
If Ferrera is given the part she will not be the only American TV star who has been cast in a play recently, as Jonathan Groff from Glee has been performing in the play Deathtrap.
